About L. Farrell Folk Art

Welcome to my little corner of Maine.

I'm Laura — an artist and craftsperson living on a small homestead in the Maine countryside, where the wildlife, changing seasons, and quiet moments of everyday life are my greatest inspiration.

Every design begins with a story. Whether it's a fox mid-pounce in a snowy field, a marsh frog catching the morning light, or an owl watching silently from the pines — I find my subjects just outside my door.

The work

My craft takes many forms. Some pieces are hand-tooled leather, carved in dimensional relief by hand and stitched in my studio. Others combine leather with handwoven wool — wool I spin from my own flock. Still others bring my original artwork to thoughtfully chosen home goods.

Whatever the medium, each design begins as my own original artwork. No two pieces are exactly alike, and many are one of a kind.

Made to last

I create pieces that bring a little whimsy, beauty, and character into everyday life — and that are built to be enjoyed, used, and treasured for years to come. Vegetable-tanned leather deepens and richens with age. Handwoven wool carries the warmth of the hands that made it. These are heirloom objects, not disposable ones.

Each piece is signed with the L. Farrell Folk Art maker's stamp and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
